The National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) is set to showcase the Philippine digital revolution during their NICP Summit 2018 to be held in Naga City on 23-24 November 2018.
With the theme, “A Decade of Inclusive Countryside Development: Managing Digital Transformation Driven by Disruptive Technologies,” the NICP summit 2018 will highlight the country’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) developments in the past 10 years, since its inception in 2008.
The NICP Summit 2018 will encapsulate the decade of creating strategies and transforming the Philippine cities and provinces into digital hubs for employment, investments and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The event will highlight the fruits of NICP’s collaborative efforts to consolidate ICT local stakeholders in developing the potential of their respective locations, in terms of talent, infrastructure, business environment, and overall competitiveness in the field of ICT and digital technologies.
NICP SUMMIT 2018 will also offer a variety of opportunities for ICT-related direct foreign or local investments, joint venture arrangements, multi-sectoral collaboration and partnership, sharing of ICT best practices and lesson learns, advocacy campaign and many other opportunities, particularly in voice and non-voice global services, HR, back-office support, shared services outsourcing, finance and accounting, research and development, knowledge process and creative process outsourcing (game development, animation, multi-media and advertising), health information management, medical coding, billing and transcription, including the emerging financial technologies, such as the digital currency, or cryptocurrencies, the blockchain revolution and related innovations.

NICP Summit 2018 is expected to be attended by more than 1000 participants comprise of local government employees, with the hundreds of representatives from the line agencies, colleges, universities, and private technology evangelists and advocates.

What is NICP
The NICP is the national umbrella organization of all seventy (70) ICT Councils in the Philippines that are strategically operating in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, linking provinces and cities to the world. It is composed of local stakeholders from local governments, business and industry sector, academe and human resource sector, working together to promote ICT-related innovation and developments.

Since 2008, NICP assisted the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), formerly CICT and ICTO-DOST, conducts annual national ICT summits in key cities throughout the country.
NICP summit 2018 is a collaborative effort of ICT Council in Bicol / Metro Naga, in partnership with the City Government of Naga and the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
