OL mosquito trap technology was developed by the Department of Science and Technology use to attract and kill dengue-carrying mosquito. This OL mosquito trap technology has been used by the government to curb the population of aedes aegypti – the dengue carrying mosquitoes during the dengue peak season in 2011.

OL mosquito trap also uses black tin can – but eventually changed into black plastic tumbler for better transportation and stockability purposes, this black plastic tumbler adds attracting value for mosquitoes.
